Kansas City-based duo Bobby and Raylynn are the smoke and fire of Home Town Express. Both are multi-instrumentalists and have a combined  50 years of pickin' & grinnin'.... and drummin' & strummin', & singin' too! They have been performing together since 2019 in bars, breweries, wineries, distilleries; and for festivals, weddings, birthdays, fundraising events; and private parties all across the Midwest. Their repertoire consists of an acoustic variety including country, southern rock, and other classic hits.

Bobby's southern roots sprouted in Panama City, Florida, as a third generation musician. His love for good ol' country music began at a very young age while sitting on his front porch and at family gatherings. At the age of 12 years old, he began bangin' on drums. And you might still find him sitting behind them occassionally. But, his true passion is pickin' & strummin' the guitar and pulling on heart strings with his warm, swoony vocals. He has been described as some sort of hypnotic, ear-pleasing mix of such artists like Travis Tritt, Merle Haggard, Elvis, and Waylon. He weaves threads from old country, blues, and folk together with his unique voice and emotional perspective of music.

Raylynn, a Kansas City native, grew up listening to a wide genre of music ranging from rock to bluegrass to southern hymns.. She also had musical influences from family members that played a variety of musical instruments such as the banjo and accordion. Thus, a passion for music was ignited. At 9 years old, she became a classically trained cellist. She's also a self-taught clarinetist, guitarist, bass guitarist, fiddlist, and pianist. Through tertiary education she has developed an understanding and appreciation for music theory also. As an agile vocalist--ranging from angelic high notes to raspy low tones--she offers delicate and complimentary harmonizations to Bobby's lead vocals.
